Just Got Engaged…Now What?

There are so many things that are running through your head. What date will we pick? Where will we get married? Elope? Big Wedding? Who should we invite? So many things to think about.,

As a Missouri Wedding Photographer that loves to help her couples simplify, so they can enjoy the process and have their best day ever – I am going to help you narrow down the list of what needs to be done first! So, you just got engaged…now what?

The first thing you need to do – nail down that wedding date. The very first thing any family member or any vendor is going to ask you is the date of your wedding. So, that needs to be the very first thing you knock off your list.

Second big decision: Book the venue! The venue is what always has the crazy availability you will need to work with. It is also one of your bigger and more important decisions. By locking your perfect venue in early, your stress will dwindle very quickly. Pick the venue that really is your sense of style. The is the place you will look back on for years to come. This is where you will make some of your most precious memories. Make sure it screams, YOU!

Third item on the list… ask your people! Your people are going to be the best support system during this exciting time. Create the fun proposal boxes, host the brunch, ask over lunch – do it however you want, just create that support system! The people are what make the day so magical and special, so make sure you have the BEST people standing next to you!

Fourth and final thing to check off your list right away… BOOK YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER! I am serious. Along with venues, wedding photographers BOOK. UP. QUICKLY. There are a few things you should do to pick the best photographer for you. Pick a photographer thats edits the style you like and will match the look that you are going for! Quickest way to see a wedding photographer’s most recent work: check their Instagram. Pick the photographer that understands what you are wanting. This is so important. You will look at these photos for years to come! Make sure you pick someone that will make you fall in love over and over again with memories of your most perfect day.
