When you get your wedding photo gallery, you’ll immediately be looking to find that perfect photo of the two of you together to share with all your friends and family right away.
Then you’ll be gushing over the moments captured of your wedding party, your family, and friends. But after you sit with your gallery for a bit…you might be surprised to find that some of your favorite photos don’t have any people in them.
The same thing happens for me – the photographer – wedding after wedding.
All those meticulous and meaningful details you planned for months to set the atmosphere for your big day deserve their moment to shine. It is these small, unique details that make every single weekend a different experience for me.
These wedding detail shots provide a unique perspective and help tell the complete story of your wedding day. The details that were important enough to the two of you to share with all your guests. All the choices you made in the months leading up to your wedding. The sentimental touches included to remind you of your family and what brought you two together.
Because I work closely with my couples before the wedding, I know exactly what to look for on the wedding day to find the perfect shots to capture for your wedding gallery. I’m also in awe of the rockstar wedding planners, venue owners, florists, and bakers that I am lucky enough to cross paths with. It’s my goal that all their work looks like a million bucks and has its place forever in your gallery.
Every wedding is different, but here are a few of the wedding detail shots that I look for at each wedding. This is not an exhaustive list. If you have any questions about a complete wedding gallery, just ask!
1. Ceremony Setup
A quiet moment stolen away before the guests arrive.
2. Reception Decor
You’ve planned the fanciest dinner party of your life and invited everyone you know. It’s all about the ambience! Before everyone arrives, we’ll capture all the small details while highlighting the scope of the evening.
3. Rings and Jewelry
It goes without saying that you need a close-up shot of those rings! This is one of my favorite shots to capture. Other meaningful wedding accessories should be included, too.
4. Florals
Your florals won’t last forever but their beauty will live on forever in your wedding gallery. Florals make for some of the most stunning photos!
5. Invitations and Stationery
A lot of thought goes into your invitations, wedding programs, menus, and placecards. You’ll never regret having these.
6. The Dress
You searched far and wide to find the dress of your dreams. So, we’ll capture it…alongside all the anticipation and excitement of the big day. It’s just hanging there…waiting for you.
7. Getting Ready Details
When we capture the details of your attire: wedding gown, shoes, jewelry, suit, tux, and accessories…you’ll remember the anticipation and the excitement of your day forever.
8. The Wedding Cake
There is something iconic about a wedding cake. But it is also fun when couples do a little something different at the cake table. Either way, wedding cakes are a delicious work of art and should get their moment in the spotlight.
9. Signage and Personal Touches
I’ll find all the sentimental touches, family heirlooms, and memoribilia so that no special moment is missed.
10. Lighting Love
Candles. Twinkly lights. Fireworks. Anything that creates a glow. You’ll have great lighting…I’m going to find it.
I want your wedding gallery to take you back to your perfect wedding day, but also take you back to the exciting months you spent planning your wedding. You’ll always remember how it felt. Making sure we get all these little moments is really important.
