One of a wedding photographer’s most asked questions is: “What are the best venues that you have worked at?” I love to make things easy on my brides, so I’m happy to share some of my favorite Missouri wedding venues to work at. Every bride is unique and what they want their big day to feel like also varies. That is why I’m sharing a wide variety of options. So you can see what you think might feel most like you!
Missouri isn’t just a flyover state full of cows and beer. We do have a lot of both of those things and are proud of it! But there is such a wide variety of options from rustic barn house to modern warehouse. Lots of intimate and posh locations sprinkled in between.
Industrial Grove is aptly named because while it is a modern and industrial option, they also offer a beautiful outdoor setting option.
One of the things I love about shooting in an industrial setting is how all the soft and romantic details of the dresses and the florals just pop against the simple, stark backgrounds. Not to mention, all the great lighting that you get in all their settings.
I’m fortunate to get to work with the Industrial Grove crew frequently, you can see examples of my work there in my blog post devoted to the Industrial Grove wedding experience.
This Southwest Missouri wedding venue is located just 25 minutes north east of Springfield. All charm of a rural Missouri wedding but close enough to the city to offer amenities to all your guests.
This gorgeous barn style venue is perfect for your rustic wedding dreams. It is such a versatile and elegant venue that can host up to 300 of your friends and family.
Named for the stunning oak tree on the property, they also offer outdoor ceremony setups. As you can see, weddings in front of the tree and the lake are quite beautiful! Gorgeous vaulted wood ceilings or nature’s stunning backdrop…it will be hard to choose.
This Southwest Missouri wedding venue is just 1 hour north east of Springfield, 35 minutes from Lake of the Ozarks, 2.5 hours southwest of St Louis, and 3 hours southeast of Kansas City.
You can read more about The Mighty Oak Lodge in the blog post I created specifically to highlight my hometown venue.
This Lake of the Ozarks wedding venue is a hot take on a wedding warehouse. Your wedding photos will be industrial with a hint of street smarts. The metal, the exposed brick, the open feel, the chandelier…it all blends together perfectly. A really smart floor plan and a built in bar make sure your wedding flows smoothly. And…the bridal suite and groomsmen quarters…don’t even get me started. This is a must-see if you are considering getting married in the Lake of the Ozarks area.
One of Missouri’s most popular destinations, the Lake of the Ozarks area offers so much for your family and friends to enjoy. It is also rapidly growing and changing to become more of a year round destination. It is conveniently located in the middle of the state just 2.5 hours from Kansas City, 3 hours from St. Louis and 1.5 hours from Springfield.
You might be thinking? A hotel? Here me out, this isn’t a standard hotel chain conference room that is a wedding reception Saturday night and a sales convention on Monday. This space is absolutely stunning and could be perfect for your small, intimate wedding.
Upscale, vintage, charming, modern, sexy…I could go on and on. I’ll never turn down a chance to take wedding photos or engagement photos here. It is a photographer’s dream. If you are planning a smaller wedding, but still like to party this Springfield Wedding Venue is perfect for you.
The locals don’t miss a chance to take the famous Hotel Vandivort bathroom selfie!
This Southwest Missouri wedding venue is located in Downtown Springfield, Missouri in a historic building that is part of the National Register of Historic Places.
Your venue is the backdrop to all your wedding photos so choose one that speaks to you! Getting your venue booked is one of the first decisions you should make in your wedding planning process. This post was not an extensive overview of my Missouri wedding venue experiences, so if you have any other questions, just ask! I’m happy to be a wedding planning resource for all my engaged couples.
