Investing in YOURSELF is IMPORTANT

To all my fellow photographers, please read the title again.

Let me say it louder for the people in the back – INVESTING IN YOURSELF IS IMPORTANT.

I think that investing in yourself is sometimes the risk that is just too much of a burden to some. It is quite the opposite actually – the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward!

There are so many reasons that you, as a photographer, should be investing in yourself so I am going to take the time to list a few of those reasons:

1. If you want someone to invest in your talents then you have to invest in yourself first. You are the one who sees your talent – make your clients believe in you! Unleash the talent from within. Try new editing styles, a different angle, or pose. This is what helps you grow.
2. You are creating more than just a brand, you are creating something personal. YOU. Make sure that as you start investing, you are staying true to who you are. Your clients are paying for more than just your photos, they are paying for YOU. Make sure you are giving them the best version of yourself. That can look like many different things, but self care mentally and physically will ensure your client is a happy little clam.
3. Create a network. There are so many photographers out there who would love to team up with you to see how you do things and vice versa. This is one of the best ways to grow as a photographer! So get out there and network, baby!!
4. This goes without saying, but the world is ever changing and growing. So, why aren’t you? Take the adobe class for a new update, buy the new camera, network with fellow photographers to see what works for them, or sign up for the workshop. You and your business should be your top priority. Take some time to really pour into yourself and learn something new! You can thank yourself later.. 🙂
